In the run-up to MWC 2012, LG has taken the opportunity to reveal a trio of new handsets which form part of its new “L-Style” range of devices.

This trio of phones will make an appearance at new week’s event in Barcelona.

With the emphasis firmly on style and optimum design, LG has introduced the Optimus L7, Optimus L5 and Optimus L3 smartphones.

The company teased users on its Facebook page, promising yesterday that “Tomorrow, we’LL teLL you what aLL the L has been about! Countdown with us…not Long now!” And now we now what the “L” LG was on about it – its new L-series of phones that seem to echo the design elements of the LG Prada 3 handset.

LG explained that the “design philosophy is comprised of five aesthetic elements”. These are: “Modern Square Style for a comfortable grip, Floating Mass Technology for a slimmer look, Seamless Layout for a more intuitive arrangement of keys, Harmonized Design Contrast utilizing metallic accents and Sensuous Slim Shape that naturally draws one’s attention.”

Specs wise, there isn’t much to go on apart from screen size and operating system confirmation.

The Optimus L3 phone will sport a 3.2-inch display, feature a 1500mAh battery, and run on Android Gingerbread platform, and is scheduled for launch in Europe next month. The L5 model has a 4-inch screen and lands with the latest flavour of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich. Similarly the L7 handset boasts Ice Cream Sandwich goodness but comes with a bigger 4.3-inch display.

Both the Optimus L5 and Optimus L7 smartphones have a release date of the first half of 2012.

No doubt, LG will reveal a lot more about this trio of L-series mobiles during MWC next week. The recently-announced LG Optimus Vu device will also be on display at the event.
