Since its unveiling during CES 2012, the Sony Xperia S has stirred up much excitement among Android smartphone enthusiasts.
And with good reason – considering it combines a cutting-edge design with the latest features and technology.
The Xperia S is Sony’s first handset in its NXT (next-generation) range, and ditches the Ericsson moniker.
Introduced alongside a number of other high-end smartphones such as the Nokia Lumia 900 and Motorola Razr Maxx, the Xperia S boasts some impressive credentials. These include a 4.3-inch HD Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine and super-sharp resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels; 1.5GHz dual-core processor; 32GB of internal storage space; 12-megapixel camera with Exmor R sensor and 1.5-seconds shooting ability; NFC support; PlayStation certification; and Gingerbread software that Sony will upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich in Q2.
Design wise, the Xperia S has a distinctive transparent strip that illuminates and emphasises the display.
The new Sony smartphone is coming to the UK this March, and Three and O2 were first to state they’ll be stocking the device. Orange has today confirmed via Twitter the Xperia S is coming to its network “soon” and that “further details [are] to follow”.
Available in both black and white versions, Phones 4u has claimed the white Xperia S will be a Phones 4u exclusive. Also landing in March, like the Xperia S in black, the company has advised that “pricing and launch date to be confirmed nearer the time”.

So although pricing and release date details are unknown at this stage, you can look forward to the Xperia S arriving on O2, Orange and Three, as well as exclusively in white on Phones 4u, in March this year.
